Meet the Doctor

Dr. Bryan W. Barry is a lifelong Connecticut resident.  His early onset of compassion to help others is the catalyst that steered him into Chiropractic Medicine where he received his doctoral degree from the University of Bridgeport.  In addition to studying Chiropractic, he also obtained a Master of Science Degree in Human Nutrition and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in physiology and neurobiology from the University of Connecticut. 

He has also studied Acupuncture and received post-graduate training and certification in Orthopedic Acupuncture. He earned his Fellowship and Diplomate in Acupuncture through the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture.  Dr. Barry has served as the Medical Director of Sports Medicine for New Haven Athletics and the New Haven Board of Education.  He served as adjunct professor of Sports Medicine and Nutrition at Quinnipiac University and Anatomy and Physiology and Biology at Gateway Community College as well as Founder and Clinical Director of Chiropractic Health Care Center of Hamden, LLC.  Dr. Barry was the founding director and acting Dean of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and Briarwood College in Southington. Ct.  Dr. Barry is Founder and Director of Connecticut Acupuncture Certification Program where he continues to train various health care professionals in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.          

Dr. Barry feels his practice is very community based and enjoys being active in the Hamden Community where he resides.  He is the past Chairman of the Board of Commissioners for the Commission on Disabilities, Human Rights and Opportunities appointed by the Mayor and Legislative council in 2004.  He also served on the Board of Directors for the Hamden Chamber of Commerce for the past six consecutive years and is on the Advisory Board for Stone Academy. 

He has been recognized with several prestigious awards in recent years including Top Chiropractor awarded by Top Docs in New Haven County in 2021.  The Hamden Chamber of Commerce presented the Service Award in 2012 for recognition and support to the business community.  In 2011 Dr. Barry’s practice was awarded the Chamber Brick award for the expansion of their new Therapeutic Massage Center of Hamden and the office was honored in the prestigious Small Business of the Year for 2010 by the Hamden Chamber of Commerce. The New Haven Advocate Best of New Haven Readers' poll chose Dr. Barry in2008 and 2007 for best acupuncturist in New Haven County.  He has received The 'Forty Under 40 Award' in 2007, which applauded him for professional achievement and community involvement.  He has also received the 2007 Volunteer Award for his support and dedication to the Hamden Chamber of Commerce.                             

Due to his skill and compassion, Dr. Barry was inducted as a lifetime member among Cambridge Who's Who executives, professionals and entrepreneurs.  Dr. Barry is highly regarded as one of the top Chiropractic Physicians not solely based on his professional achievements, but also due to his patients’ response to his warmth, enthusiasm and community-based approach to integrative medicine.
